Sarinda Soponpong, a native of Thailand, was born in January 1987. From the age of 10 through grade 9, she studied at St. Francis Xavier School in Bangkok where she joined the school’s band as a trumpet player.

In 2002, she decided to study music seriously. She attended the college of music of Mahidol University, studying trumpet with Joseph Bowman and music theory with Valeriy Rizayev. She participated the Southeast Asian Youth Orchestra and Wind Ensemble in 2003 and 2004. In 2005, she received her Bachelor of Music Degree with a major in composition from the University of Northern Colorado School of Music. There she studied composition with with Robert Ehle. She also received her Master of Music in Theory and Composition from the University of Northern Colorado in 2012, studying composition with Paul Elwood.

She has premiered some of her works in music events that were held in Thailand such as Thailand International Composition Festival (TICF) in 2007 and 2009, the 15th World Saxophone Congress in 2009, and Art Music Fest VI at Chulalongkorn University in 2013.
