Jennifer J. Durham is a composer, musician, and teacher from Georgia (U.S.). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Georgia State University as well as a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southwestern State University. She is returning to school in the Fall of 2018 at Georgia State to pursue a Master’s in Music Composition.
Durham has taught chorus, general music, math, and early childhood in public schools. She is also a church musician, accompanist and piano teacher. She’s always composed and arranged music for her choirs as needed, but she has spent the last few years actively pursuing more composition.
She was accepted to the 2017 John Ness Beck Choral Composers’ workshop, where she was able to work with Dan Forrest, Craig Courtney, and Howard Helvey. She’s slated to participate in the Coro Composer’s Institute in July 2018.
She and her husband have two grown children and lots of rescue pets. They live in rural Georgia about an hour south of Atlanta.
