Bill Heigen is a composer, an arranger, a musical director, and a choral singer. He is the recipient of national awards in Brazil (Vocal Brasil CCBB 2012 and Nona Mostra FIL) and the US (MCE Composer Competition 2015-2016) for his compositions, vocal arrangements, and choral directing. He holds a Master's Degree in Music Composition from Hunter College, NYC, and a Master's Degree in Voice Performance from University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
His compositions have been performed by ensembles across the US, France, Brazil, Portugal, and United Kingdom. He has performed in several vocal ensembles such as the award-winning Choral Chameleon, the award-winning C4, and the New York Holiday Choristers.
Heigen has worked as a professional singer with many church and community choirs in the Tri-State Area. He has served as the accompanist for Hunter College’s Jazz Vocal Workshop and continues to work as a freelance composer. Currently, he is a soloist and section leader at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church and lives in West New York, New Jersey.
