AbshireText: Two poems: "Danseur" Entering your sleep I dream your dream My lips only a sigh Close to your heart You, forming In my soul You, burning In my night I know you well Longing, dreaming. "That of You I Keep" Gathering in the light Carried in the heart The embers of gold Shimmering flame Dark is not the loss of Sun But the death of light in my heart. Programming AidsPerformance Difficulty: moderateDescriptive Terms: longingpoignantlovepassiondreamAllow Excerpts: Composition is a single movementComposer’s Notes: “Longing, Dreaming” explores what is the dream and who is the dreamer and suggests a passionate melding of minds and hearts within a poignant dreamscape. The piece is the second movement of "Echoes from the Heart", an a cappella, double-chorus work in three movements. In this movement, as in the other two movements (“Ancient Roses” and “I Remember”), the titles of the movements are incorporated into the lyrics to heighten the sense of a recursive journey.
