Joy DeCoursey-Porter resides in Seattle Washington with her husband and 2 sons. She graduated from San Diego Christian College in 2000 with a BA in Music. She has only recently begun to compose again in earnest after a long hiatus. Joy has had a few fortunate recent successes, including that of the most recent performance of Mondnacht by the Cascadian Chorale as well as a few others within the last year—including her first official release piece Jesus performed by both Espressivo in Florida and Michael Sandvik’s Shenandoah Academy choir in Virginia.
Joy composes mostly sacred music for groups of various sizes and abilities and hopes to continue using the gifts and talents given to her to give glory to her God and Savior Jesus Christ.
