Garcia. The beautiful imagery of the poem is something of an allegory for life: the ever flowing river, flowing over branches and rocks by day and by night, but blanketed with beautiful roses. We walk alongside, and we also walk in amongst the roses, as our faith leads the way. The music reflects a simplicity, with just a touch of Mexican folk music flavor in some of the harmony, and the 3/4 time. Finally, we reach a more dramatic, and angelic conclusion in the last, spiritual line of the piece.
