Anita Kupriss, is a conductor, composer, singer, and guitarist. In 2009 she received her doctorate in choral conducting from Boston University; she also holds master’s degrees in choral conducting and composition from New England Conservatory. She has taught instrumental and choral conducting at Boston University and New England Conservatory. As Music Director at Hancock United Church of Christ in Lexinton, MA, she conducted various choirs: two children’s choirs, a youth choir, an adult choir, an inter-generational choir, and a choir of professional and amateur singers with freelance professional instrumentalists.

With Kolibri, a Latvian vocal and instrumental ensemble, Kupriss performed around the world. Kolibri’s most memorable and momentous performances occurred at the Baltica 88 festival in Riga, Latvia, right before the Latvian nation regained its independence from the Soviet Union.

Her compositions have been recorded and performed by numerous choruses and international festival choirs in Latvia, Canada, Denmark, Iceland, Germany, Sweden, and the United States. She is currently Artistic Director of the Labyrinth Choir, a mixed professional chorus.
