Adam Steele, a Portland native, has been active in the music community in Portland since 1990. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and Vocal Performance from Pacific University in 1993, and his Master of Music in Conducting from Portland State University in 2006. He currently teaches at Oregon Episcopal School (all of the high school music classes, as well as an elementary-age Boy Choir), and is Director of Music Ministries at Valley Community Presbyterian Church.

He is also active as a singer, composer, conductor, adjudicator, and engraver. His compositions have been premiered by numerous high school, college, community and professional ensembles in the Pacific Northwest. He is co-founder and artistic director of a Portland-based professional men’s chorus called Vir, and he currently sings with Cappella Romana (also serving as assistant conductor), The Ensemble and Resonance Ensemble. He has recorded with these and other choirs on the Gagliano, Gothic and Koch Classical labels.

Steele recently sang for his seventeenth CD with Cappella Romana, and has toured Europe, Canada and all over the U.S. with them on many occasions over the years. He has appeared as a featured soloist with The Oregon Symphony, Portland Symphonic Choir, Cappella Romana, Choral Cross-ties and the Portland State University Chamber Choir. He listens to and enjoys many different types of music, loves to cook, is a decent golfer and loves spending time with his family.
