Michał Ziółkowski is a Polish composer who has been interested in music since the age of 15. At that time, he began taking piano lessons and began to learn music theory and harmony as an autodidact. His first compositions are little piano pieces, which has been performed occasionally by the composer himself.
At the age of 19 he started his first studies — Music Education in Rzeszów, Poland, — and spent a lot of time singing in choirs that performed various musical styles, from classical and romantic to modern contemporary.
Later, he also managed to write his own first choral piece A Dream Within A Dream based on the poem by Edgar Allan Poe. (This piece waited 2 years for
performance). In 2012 he moved to Wrocław and began studying composition at the Academy of
Music.
He is also the winner of the 10th International Composers Competition MUISCA SACRA in Koln for the piece Agnus Dei. Apart from choral music he also writes pieces for symphony orchestra and chamber ensembles.
