Martin Loridan is a French composer. He graduated from the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris (Paris Conservatory ‐ CNSMDP). He has studied composition with Daniel D’Adamo, Beat Furrer, Thierry Escaich.

His current work addresses the relationship to gesture, breath, timbre, and resonance and raises the aesthetic question of origins, characterization, continuation, and extinction of the sound. His work includes chamber, orchestral, solo and vocal music.

His works have been performed worldwide by prestigious orchestra and ensemble such as the Pittsburg Symphony Orchestra (PSO), the Senzoku Gakuen New Philharmonic Orchestra (Tokyo), the Arditti Quartet, l’Instant Donné, Ensemble Accroche Note, Quatuor Tana, Cepromusic, ensemble Lucilin, Stony Brook Contemporary Chamber Players, Soundinitiative, Ecce ensemble, ensemble Miseen, and Klangforum Wien.

He has achieved distinction in multiple composition competitions such as the Rachmaninov competition (Darmstadt), the Vareler composition prize (Berlin), the Franz Josef Reinl prize (Vienna), the Ecce ensemble composition competition (New York), and the Sorodha composition competition (Antwerp).
